Our 2019 Competition Gallery unVEILed!

Each year our photographers perform the dauntless task of going through hundreds of weddings and thousands of images to select a handful of photographically flawless images. From their selection, masterful albums are designed and individual prints are matted and sent to be judged in an International Print Competition through Professional Photographers of America. Fourteen long days later you will find all of our photographers leaning over their computers, cup of coffee in hand, sweat glistening across their brow, awaiting the moment that their entry appears online where they can listen to a panel of judges critique their entries.

And the moment we have all been waiting for, the results are in!

In the wedding category there where a mere three individuals whom loaned all of the entries in their case (received a top score), becoming Diamond Photographer of the Year. All three of these individuals where Muñoz Photographers. Combined, four of our wedding prints are included in the top ten wedding print category and six of our wedding albums are included in the top ten wedding album category. And this has been narrowed down from a total of 5,245 entries from around the globe!

So what’s next? Thousands of entries have been narrowed down to the top ten images/albums in each photographic category, and now they will be judged in The Grand Imaging Awards which will take place in Nashville January 2020. This encompasses the absolute best of the best photographs on the planet! And Yes, every year our photographers are technically competing against one another for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. And every year they could not be happier for one another when they win, no matter what the place they receive. So stay tuned for the 2020 Grand Imaging Award results!

Q & A with Tom Muñoz

How does lighting affect your entries?

  • “Lighting is used as an artistic technique. Like a painter uses a paint brush, a photographer uses light. And the way they choose to use their tools is based on how the artist envisions the piece.”

How do you choose your competition images?

  • “Impact foremost, story telling and containing technical excellence.”
